These are the image I have taken this morning in an attempt to hone in on the documentation idea I had from the last post.
The third image is the strongest of all of them. The focus on one square footage of road brings forward questions, why this particular area? what is the significance? Where is it? Though I can answer these with what I had in mind at the time I was taken them (my daily journey, human waste, behind the Adelphi, a significant area of Liverpool's modern history.) the greater interest would be finding an area of significant change throughout Liverpool's city planning regulations, selecting the square footage, then documenting that space exactly.
I have applied for a Liverpool City Library card which will allow me access to certain archives immediately, however, due to the regeneration of the archives storage, I have had to enquire what is available and what documents to ask for before making an appointment to visit.
I have already found places of interest:
Prince Edwin Street
St Martin's Cottages 1869
Victoria Buildings 1885
Juvenal Dwellings 1890's
Queens Drive
Black Horse Pub - near Mann Island
From Back Bridgport Street towards London Road
Last week I started looking at past street images through the website 20thcenturyimages.co.uk/trolleyed/3/liverpool.html

South Castle Street 1944

Seel Street 1960
So now I am waiting for a response from the archives, meanwhile, I will check out modern maps of Liverpool and print off a giant one if I can find one...maybe even tourist maps. Then my own research into areas of interest using what is readily available via internet, libraries and book shops.
