Granddad and coke.
I found a digital photograph of my granddad on his wedding day and fixed it up using photoshop, removing a rip in the top corner and blending out a black square on the trouser leg, after this I decided to add a cola bottle from 2006 as an experiment. The aim was to introduce a foreign object into an environment seamlessly, this has worked well though not so relevant to my project as I want the viewer to notice their own environment, I need a location/subject everyone can identify with.

Film
The film I intended to do is failing before I even edit it! I have come to the conclusion that there is nothing about it that will help it stand out from other films in a gallery environment. For it to be successful, I need a physical environment with a direct influence to the senses. Therefore, for now the interactive film is on halt, at least until I can understand the limitations and routes of technology.

Hues
Using photoshop, I have manipulated the hue saturation of one particular image to understand where colour comes into focus for the eye. They are successful aesthetically though again there is no real substance to encourage what I want to put across to an audience.

Way Back When
For my dissertationI am focusing on the influence photography has had over the art world. First photographers used the method to document everyday life, I have been inspired by this to document a particular area creating an almost self discovery journey. My notes when this came to mind (in the middle of the night) are as followed:

IDEA!
Photograph Documentation, think 1st developed (extreme close up for science/documentation)
  • Roads, morning noon and night
  • extreme close up of features of a journey (wall. path etc.)
  • Photo edit is too simple - little meaning other than the location
  • Film editing - complicated and time consuming how do I link with objective?
  • Documentation - brings focus to a particular area which I desire and its daily actives - recognise how we fit into the environment, our influences both positive + negative, beautiful+ugly image we have created of our cities
  • Tourists - photo op! Impact on ourselves, self realisation, we are no different
  • NO NEED TO EDIT PHOTOS! just selection of the effective and arrangement can make a huge difference
Bring the viewer on a journey of self discovery!!!

This concludes this entry for the blog for now, I am attempting to condense the images so they might be published too, it's jus taking so long!
