WOW!

There has been so much going on!
Firstly, I haven't mentioned this on the blog yet I think, but I am heavily involved in the Art Lids Society, here is our group description:

The Art Lids Society intends to raise the lid off Art across Liverpool, by bringing it into the local community and the hub that is Liverpool city centre. It is a group run by and for students who love art, make art, live art and want to promote Liverpools Art students as central figures in Liverpools Cultural scene, and the cultural development of the North West. We aim to develop a network of emerging artists to promote, support and cultivate art practices and art debate within a forum of like minded people.

Constitution/ Mission statement:
The Art Lids Society wishes to provide a support network that will engage with the local community and develop and promote the practice of emerging artists.

We will share/provide skills in workshops as a group within the local community and Liverpool City Centre.

We aim to gain experience working/learning alongside artists from across the UK, to learn what it takes to make it in the real art world and see how projects/commissions are realised from start to finish.

We will network with Artist groups in Liverpool and across the NorthWest to learn what they do, how they do it, why, and what effects it has on their own practice and the development of the local community.

Our biggest aim is to travel somewhere within Europe to study as a group for a short time, which will develop our life skills and enhance our critical and practical artistic development

We have covered the Bold Street Festival, done a sponsored walk and right now we are doing Alice In Wonderland at Clayton Square which is a huge success considering we only opened 3pm Thursday! We've found sponsors from the square and outside including Tesco and Rapids with no aide of tutors but following their example of getting ourselves noticed.

Some snippets of our shop below.

The retro cards on the floor are my doing!

Can you identify our furry friend in the background?

Superlambananna!

We are all so chuffed of how this all came together in 4 weeks limited access! We will be closing on December 18th 2011 open until then Thursdays to Sundays. A lot of negotiation with the University time table I'm afraid.
